Skip Bayless SHOCKED as Anthony Edwards helps Timberwolves win in Nuggets fortress
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves took Game 1 as they faced the Nuggets on the road. Coming off a sweep against the Suns, the Wolves had momentum and confidence coming into this series. Ant-Man dropped 43 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in Game 1. However, it wasn’t him who had all the praise following the victory.

Skip Bayless lauded Naz Reid and Mike Conley‘s incredible performance, as the two heavily contributed on both ends of the floor. Reid came off the bench, whereas Conley is the starting point guard. He has been pretty impressive so far into the postseason. He’s also been efficient from deep and plays solid on-ball defense.

I am shocked the TWolves went into Denver and won this Game 1. I was not at all surprised by Ant Man. But I didn't see Mike Conley and Naz Reid doing THAT. Skip Bayless wrote on X

Conley finished the game with 14 points, 10 assists, and 4 rebounds while shooting 75% from downtown. On the other hand, Reid had 16 for the night. The Wolves seemed to have suffocated Denver in the second half, outscoring them by 11. Looking back at Game 1, Anthony Edwards‘ dominance says a lot about how this series will play out.

Anthony Edwards and the Wolves may close this series soon

With his 43-bomb in Game 1 of the Conference Semi-finals, Ant-Man is one of the only players to drop consecutive 35+ point games as a 22-year-old. Not only that, but Stephen A. Smith has Edwards and the Wolves taking this series against the reigning champs.

I got Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves winning this series. I mean I've seen enough. This brother, he is so sensational, it's hard to put in the words. said Stephen A. Smith

While the Wolves started the series with a dominant win, the Nuggets tried their best at home. Nikola Jokic dropped 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists. Edwards on the other hand is on a mission, averaging veteran numbers in his third playoff appearance. He is currently one of the best players in the postseason going up against the two-time MVP.

It will be interesting to see whether the Wolves can get back home without a loss. Both teams are the favorites to make it out of the West. With Game 2 scheduled on Monday, the Nuggets will be looking to even the series before they hit the road.
